CITYWALL OF HERAKLEIA
Hiking along the ancient city walls of Herakleia. The wall is remarkably long
(6kms) and has 65 watch towers. There are wonderful views over the lake. A visit
to Herakleia afterwards is optional.

MARBLE QUERRIES
Walking through olive groves to the ancient marble quarries of Milet. It was here marble was cut for the Temple of Apollo in Didyma. At the lakeside there is also an old defence monastery with very old olive trees. A walk along the lakeside brings you back to our hotel.

ANCIENT CITY LATMOS
The ancient city of Latmos preceeded the city of Herakleia. King Mausolos demanded that the citizens had to move to the newly founded city of Herakleia. We visit Latmos then walk to two caves with Byzantine frescos in the Latmos Mountains. From here we walk to Herakleia.
